Investors and business owners
Before you pull out, pull back or hunker down, make sure fear isn’t making the decision.
There may be an opportunity in front of you that you’re too emotionally disturbed to see.
An invitation to investors and business owners who want to prosper when markets get rough.
Join me for one hour each week at lunchtime to work through the fear, stress and old patterns clouding your judgment—so you can think strategically, spot opportunities and act with clarity.

Australia’s long run without a recession allowed many investors and business owners to build their experience without facing a prolonged downturn.
Now borrowing costs are biting, customers are holding back and margins are under pressure. You’re making decisions with less room for error and less certainty about what comes next.
What happens when the conditions you learned to succeed in no longer apply?
You need to adapt. But when your money, livelihood and family’s security are involved, fear can pull you towards the familiar precisely when you need to think differently.
A change in perspective
An investor came to me freaking out about changes in the property market.
He wanted out of his developments. Pull the pin. Escape the risk. Get somewhere that felt safe.
But what was driving that decision?
We worked through it, piece by piece. Every belief. Every fear. The old patterns around loss. The stories about what might happen and what it would mean about him.
Once the emotional disturbance settled, we got to the maths.
Then we looked at the opportunity.
The same investor who wanted to abandon his developments identified a different direction: building smaller, affordable homes. He could see an opportunity in what buyers would increasingly need, rather than trying to make his original approach work in a changing market.
The market hadn’t changed during our conversation.
His ability to assess it had.
A rising market can let you get away with ignoring your psychology. A difficult market makes that expensive.
As stress and fear rise, old beliefs and triggers can distort your assessment. You start reacting to what you fear will happen.
When the economy shifts, opportunity moves.
It can emerge in places your old strategy would never lead you to look.
You need to read what’s changing, question what used to work and see what could work next. Fear pulls you towards familiar rules and the reassurance of being told what to do.
Working through that emotional disturbance frees you to think strategically when there is no familiar formula to follow. To see an opening where you previously saw only danger, and assess whether it’s worth acting on.
Another developer couldn’t see a way forward.
His builder had gone broke.
He was frightened, overwhelmed and paralysed in his thinking. He didn’t know what to do next.
As we unpacked his reactions, we found something bigger than the immediate commercial problem: the fear of failing as a provider. Letting his family down.
That fear was crowding out his ability to think.
We worked through the beliefs and emotional disturbance until he could look at the situation from a steadier place.
Then I asked him to look again.
What did these conditions make possible? What might work now?
He identified a property strategy suited to the conditions he was facing, an opportunity he hadn’t been able to see while fear was running his thinking.
It can feel like magic when that happens.
But there’s a practical process behind it. Recognise what’s triggering you. Work through the beliefs and reactions. Return to the facts. Look again.

What is fear stopping you from seeing?
You may be an experienced investor. An accomplished business owner. Someone other people turn to for answers.
And you may still be waking up with a knot in your stomach.
You can handle big decisions confidently in your professional life. But when it’s your money, your family’s security and your reputation, suddenly you can’t find the same clarity.
Checking the same figures. Reading another frightening headline. Putting off a decision because none of the options feels comfortable.
Perhaps enquiries have slowed. Customers are taking longer to commit, and you’re wondering whether to cut prices, cut costs or change direction. You need a strategy, but every option feels loaded.
Meanwhile, the pressure follows you home. You’re with your family, but part of you is still running the numbers, imagining the loss, trying to find a way out.
Perhaps you’ve decided to sit tight until things settle down.
That might be the right decision.
But have you reached it through clear assessment, or through a frightened mind looking for relief?
That question matters.
Because an urge to escape can sound like sensible risk management.
Fear of making a mistake can look like thorough research.
And hunkering down can feel responsible while opportunities pass you by.

When conditions change, following the old rules isn’t enough.
I work with investors and business owners who have succeeded by learning a formula and applying it well. There’s nothing wrong with that. It takes discipline, and it can produce excellent results.
I also work with highly entrepreneurial people who become intensely interested when conditions change.
They ask different questions.
What do people need now? What has become possible? Where has everyone else stopped looking?
While one person is waiting for the old conditions to return, another is working out how to succeed in the new ones.
That’s the adaptability worth developing.
You can respect what worked before without needing it to keep working. You can examine an unfamiliar possibility without fear immediately ruling it out. You can recognise a genuine risk and still think creatively about your response.
That is who you’re working towards becoming: calm enough to see clearly, flexible enough to change direction and decisive enough to act.

This is the work we’ll do together.
I’m bringing together a community of investors and business owners for one hour each week, at lunchtime.
Bring the situation you’ve gone quiet about. The one you don’t want people asking you about because you still don’t know what you’re going to do.
The project you want to escape. The customers who have stopped calling. The decision you keep postponing. The opportunity you’re drawn to but can’t assess clearly. The conversation you’re afraid to have.
We’ll work on the emotional reactions and belief systems influencing your judgment, so you can get back to the facts and the choices in front of you.

What you’ll learn
Access your strategic mind. Learn to quiet the noise, settle emotional disturbance and enter what I call the flow state: relaxed, present and able to think creatively about what’s in front of you.
From that state, you can look beyond familiar formulas, recognise emerging opportunities and assess risk more clearly and efficiently.
We’ll draw on the practices I teach in The Great Book of Wealth to help you:
- Quiet your mind. Create the mental space to see possibilities that constant worry crowds out.
- Break loop thinking. Stop rehearsing the same problem and start asking questions that reveal a way forward.
- Relax under pressure. Learn to return to a peaceful, attentive state so urgency doesn’t dictate your decisions.
- Catch a pattern before it takes over. Recognise when fear is pushing you to retreat, cling to familiar rules or rush into action.
- Separate the facts from the story. Assess the actual risk without old experiences of loss or failure writing the forecast.
- Think strategically as conditions change. Question what used to work, identify what people need now and explore opportunities outside your usual approach.
- Choose your response and act. Turn insight into a considered decision and a practical next step, without waiting for complete certainty.
The aim is to make clear, creative thinking available when you need it most, so you can see the opening, weigh the risk and decide your next move.
You’ll also learn through the work we do with others. Sometimes another person’s situation makes your own pattern suddenly obvious.
We’ll practise each week so you can call on these skills when the pressure arrives: when a builder calls with bad news, a customer cancels an order or an investor asks a difficult question. That’s when you need to be able to listen, think and respond.

Get your ability to think clearly back.
Imagine looking at the decision that’s been consuming you and finally being able to separate the pieces.
Here are the facts.
Here is what I’m afraid of.
Here is what I still need to find out.
And here is what I’m going to do next.
That clarity is worth working for.
It gives you a better foundation for protecting what you’ve built, responding to problems and recognising opportunities in a changing economy.
You don’t need to arrive calm or confident.
You need to be willing to examine what’s influencing you.
Register your interest

We’re preparing the details now. Leave your name and email below, and I’ll send you the day, time, fee and joining details when they’re ready.
